Quantum Computing for Everyone — Android app
In short: this app collects nothing about you.
It asks for no permissions. It has no internet access. Nothing you do in the app is sent anywhere, because there is nowhere for it to be sent. The rest of this page explains that in more detail.
None.
The app does not collect, store on a server, transmit, sell, rent, share or otherwise disclose any personal data. Specifically, it does not collect:
There is no analytics service, no advertising network, no crash reporting service, no attribution or measurement SDK, and no third-party code of any kind inside the app beyond Google's own AndroidX support libraries, which do not collect data.
The app requests no Android permissions at all. Its manifest
contains no permission requests of any kind, including no
INTERNET permission.
Because the app has no INTERNET permission, the Android
operating system prevents it from opening any network connection. It cannot
contact a server even by accident, and it could not send your data anywhere if
it were asked to.
The app saves your learning progress so you can pick up where you left off:
All of this is written to the app's own private storage on your device, using
the standard web localStorage mechanism inside the app's WebView.
It stays on your device. No copy is sent to the developer or to anyone else.
You can erase it at any time in two ways: open Settings → Reset progress inside the app, which clears everything; or uninstall the app, which removes all of it along with the app.
If you have Android's own backup or device transfer feature turned on, Android may include this app's saved progress in your personal Google backup, so that your progress follows you to a new phone.
That backup is performed by the Android operating system under your own Google account and your own backup settings. It goes to your own Google account storage. The developer does not perform it, does not receive it and cannot read it. You can turn it off in your device's Android settings, under Backup.
Google's handling of your backup is covered by Google's Privacy Policy, not by this one.
The complete text of the Student Edition of the textbook, all figures, quiz questions, flashcards, practice problems, the glossary and the formula sheet are bundled inside the app when you install it. Nothing is downloaded, streamed or fetched while you use it. The app works exactly the same in aeroplane mode.
The app contains no advertising. It does not use an advertising ID. It does not build a profile of you and does not participate in any advertising network.
The app is suitable for all ages. It contains no objectionable content, no advertising, no purchases, no chat, no user-generated content and no links that take a user outside the app's own material.
Because the app collects no data whatsoever, it collects no data from children either. There is nothing for a parent to request access to, correct or delete, and no consent to give, because no personal information is ever gathered from any user regardless of age.
If you are a parent or guardian and you have any question about this, please write to ismael.abdulrahman@epu.edu.iq.
Data protection laws such as the GDPR give you rights to access, correct, port and erase personal data held about you. The developer holds no personal data about any user of this app, so there is nothing to access, correct, export or erase. The only data connected with the app is the progress stored on your own device, which is entirely under your control and which you can delete yourself at any time as described in section 3.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address and the effective date at the top will be updated. If a future version of the app ever collected any data, this policy would be updated and the app's Data safety section on Google Play would be updated before that version was released.
